Why UNIONWORKS is committed to British-made products

Why UNIONWORKS is committed to British-made products

7 August 2012

For several years now

There was a suggestion to create our own range of care products.

Above all, the brush is a staple item in shoe care, and

It was exactly what we wanted.

Where and what sort of brushes are made?

We all had a discussion.

What type of hair is it?

What about the logo design?

Branding … Printing … Why not engrave it? And so on

As we’re a small company, we don’t hire graphic designers or the like.

Our staff, who come from a variety of backgrounds, draw on their past experience to

We bring your vision to life

After much deliberation

At one point, I considered asking a local brush shop to make them for me.

The Japanese are hard-working.

I’m happy to work overtime.

I’m sure that if you place an order, it will be ready in a few weeks, or two to three months at the most.

I absolutely love Japanese culture, food and even the smells, but

At UNIONWORKS, we wanted to focus on British-made products.

From past experience, I knew just how difficult it is to build something from scratch in the UK, but

I wanted to explore the significance of creating my own brushes.

Brushes made in Japan are of high quality, with supple bristles and a high bristle density, but

British things have a distinctive, how shall I put it...

RIMG0233.jpg

I think there’s a certain coolness to it that isn’t too serious.

The subtle differences in each colour and the depth of the grooves

The sheer number of air bubbles in the varnish on the surface (lol), and so on

With Japanese products, it seems likely that it would be rejected, but

In fact, they are all items that are easy to use and develop a rich, evolving flavour.

Lately, I’ve been seeing a lot of magazines that focus on the ”things” we use in our daily lives.

I think highly functional and convenient tools are brilliant, but

I use it because I like it and want to use it

In other words

I like this brush and want to use it, so I’m polishing my shoes☆

I think that is the ideal tool.

Why not try making brushing part of your daily routine?
