I’m Hasegawa, a new recruit at the Shibuya branch.

It has already been three months since I joined Union Works.

I spend my days learning, whilst causing a bit of trouble for everyone.

This time, I had a go at customising boots for the first time at Union Works!!

These are the boots I wore!

 

These are my REDWING Beckman boots, which I bought about two years ago and have worn quite a lot.

I really love this chubby face and its rounded shape♪♪

I’m rather embarrassed to say, but the rubber on the heels was quite worn down too…

The part I’ve chosen for the heel this time is this Vibram #700 heel!

 
And the part I attached to the sole is, believe it or not, a deadstock CAT’S PAW half-rubber sole that had been gathering dust in a corner of the Shibuya branch.

Cats are so cute, aren’t they? ♪

 

BECKMAN originally specialised in welts, midsoles, outsoles and half-rubber soles,

It has a four-layer construction, but this time we’ve utilised the thickness of CAT’S POW to create the outsole

I’ve cut off the front half to create a three-layer structure!

And so, after a week of hard work and struggle, here is the result!

Although I finished it myself—still rather inexperienced, despite guidance from my seniors—and whilst it isn’t of a standard that would pass the Union factory’s quality control, I’ve managed to create a BECKMAN in the CAT’S PAW specification—the only one of its kind in the world!!

Personally, I really like it and have grown even more attached to it♪

And this time, believe it or not, I found this CAT’S PAW part at the Shibuya branch

We are now able to offer this to just five customers!!!
