On a certain day last October, the three of us\u2014our CEO Nakagawa, Shin from the Shinjuku branch, and myself\u2014went on a business trip to Osaka.<\/p>\n

As the title suggests, the aim is...\u2018BOUCOURA\u2019<\/strong>...I went to meet Mr Morishima, the designer\u2606<\/p>\n

BONCOURA<\/strong>is a denim brand run by Mr Morishima, who is both a vintage clothing curator and a model.<\/p>\n

Just like leather shoes, the key to denim is how it ages over time.
\nBONCOURA jeans promise an ideal fade that even surpasses that of vintage denim\u2606<\/p>\n

Here\u2019s a colour-fade sample from Bonkura Denim \u2013 I just can\u2019t get enough of that beautiful indigo blue!!<\/p>\n

I\u2019ll be sharing more details about the denim at a later date, but,
\nThese are some truly amazing jeans, with meticulous attention to detail in everything from the fabric and stitching right through to the metal fittings, such as buttons and rivets\u2606<\/p>\n

And Mr Morishima himself was a real charmer \u2013 passionate and brilliant (laughs)<\/p>\n

\u2018SALON BONCOURA\u2019<\/strong><\/a>The headquarters of Bonkura Jeans opens its doors to the public as a shop at weekends only.<\/p>\n

It is situated in a residential area rich in natural beauty, just under an hour by train from central Osaka.<\/p>\n

Step inside and you\u2019ll be greeted by BONCOURA products and a guardian deity!<\/p>\n

At the back, there are three vintage sewing machines made by Union Special<\/p>\n

\nWe were given a thorough introduction to everything from the history of Japan Denim and Levi\u2019s to the key features that make Bonkura Denim so special.<\/p>\n

Incidentally, Bonkura Denim\u2019s commitment to quality extends to absolutely everything\u2014from the selection of cotton fibres right through to spinning, dyeing and weaving!!

From jeans to shirts and coats, everything was absolutely brilliant, and all three of us were absolutely thrilled\u2606<\/p>\n

We\u2019d originally planned to stay for about two hours, but ended up staying for over five hours!<\/p>\n

After the denim workshop, you took me to Shinsekai\u2026\u2026<\/p>\n

I was taken to \u2018Yaekatsu\u2019, a kushikatsu restaurant recommended by Mr Morishima\u2606<\/p>\n

Shinsekai is full of kushikatsu restaurants, but this was the only one with a queue! It was absolutely delicious!!<\/p>\n

After that, the pair apparently headed to Namba and went on a night-time tour of Osaka, visiting about six venues.

It was my first time in Osaka, but I was shown so many wonderful things and treated to some delicious food \u2013 it was absolutely brilliant!
