Plantation Soles

This is a repair involving the replacement of the rubber outsole.

The double-sole construction is a typical feature, with Alden’s genuine crepe sole being the most representative example.
The incorporation of a leather insert at the toe helps to prevent the shoe from catching on the ground whilst walking.
