[Edward Green] Edward Green PICCADILLY Full Sole (Thames Sole) Cleaning
3 November 2026
Here’s what we’d like to introduce to you today.

Edward Green’s “Piccadilly” loafers”
It’s one of those models that’s been popular for many years, thanks to the distinctive shape of the saddle’s hole.
Let’s take a look straight away.

The original specification featured an original rubber sole.

Although made of rubber, the sole has a clean, sleek look.

The heel has worn down with use, and

The sole itself has developed cracks due to the rubber ageing over time.
Let’s replace the entire sole this time.
Next up, the upper.

It’s not immediately obvious, but some bumpy rain stains have formed.
Leaving it as it is won’t do the leather any good, so let’s go ahead and remove the stain.
Here is the finished result.

We had it replaced at Thames Sole.
These high-quality soles are made from British materials and are also used as genuine Gaziano & Garling soles.

It has little effect on the appearance from the side, resulting in a natural finish.

“We have also reproduced the original finish on the edges, known as ”tsume’.

It’s a lovely finish.

The heel is a Thames heel, approximately 6 mm thick.
Although they are slightly thinner than standard men’s heels, their clean silhouette gives them an elegant look.
Next up, the upper.
To remove the stains, I washed only the upper part in water.

Even the uneven dark spots have smoothed out, and my skin has regained its translucent radiance.
Whilst appearance is certainly a factor, we also recommend dealing with any stains as soon as possible to minimise damage to the leather.

Please feel free to contact us not only for sole repairs, but also for upper maintenance.
We look forward to welcoming you to our shop.
Thank you very much.
