Now, let’s take a look at the repairs.

Today, I’m going to repair these loafers.

That’s a Weston triple-sole loafer, isn’t it?

As the name suggests, the sole is incredibly thick, isn’t it?

It looks as though the soles are layered on top of one another to the point of excess.

From top to bottom: ① welt, ② insole, ③ midsole, ④ outsole

It has a four-layer structure, doesn’t it?

Excluding the welt, it is made up of three layers of sole, so,

I suppose that’s why they’re called ‘triple-sole loafers’.

Let’s have a look at the back.

You can tell that they have been worn with care, whilst the toes and other areas have been properly mended.

If you look closely at the centre of the sole, you’ll see that a hole is starting to form.

Guidelines for replacing the soles.

*Even with constructions such as double-soled or triple-soled shoes,

When a hole appears in the outsole at the very bottom (or when it starts to wear thin), it’s time to replace them.

We’re going to replace this impressive sole in its entirety.

A bit of trivia before we get started.

In the centre of this sole, a whitish substance is peeking out from the hole.

So this is a soft, cushioned material, like spray-on polyurethane, isn’t it?

There is a cut-out in the centre of the midsole, where the material has been replaced with this one.

I wonder if putting such a thick sole on a pair of loafers wouldn’t make it difficult to walk, as the heel wouldn’t keep up.

I’d been worrying needlessly, but it turned out to be a false alarm.

It was so well thought out that I was delighted when I found it.

We, too, are doing our utmost to replicate this aspect.

Here is the result after the replacement.

We have also ensured that the appearance faithfully reproduces the original.

The Weston-type hidden channel.

The engraved decoration and size marking near the heel and heel counter.

We have replaced the top piece with a Luster.

Triple-sole construction.

The edging around the toe and heel is also perfectly finished.

Here’s what it looks like from the side.

It’s finished beautifully.

That impressive sole has made a comeback, hasn’t it?

We look forward to welcoming you.

Thank you very much for staying with us until the end.
