“Paul Harnden”

The designer, Paul Harden, learnt shoemaking in the UK and, after working as a last-maker at John Lobb, launched his own brand.

It is also one of those brands that has attracted a loyal following of long-standing fans thanks to its unique aesthetic.

Let’s take a look straight away.

Looking at it from the side,

Her toes are curled right up.

Did they remove the wooden mould after the lasting process and then bend it? I’d love to see the process in action.

Both the outsole and the upper are made of leather.

The uneven colouring and stains give it that distinctive Paul Harden feel, don’t they?

There is no problem with wearing them as they are, but you brought them in to have them reinforced beforehand.

Half Rubber Soles

We have applied rubber to both the sole and the heel to reinforce them and provide a non-slip surface.

As the rubber is quite thin, it blends in very well even when viewed from the side.

By finishing the piece whilst leaving the original edges largely untouched, we are able to preserve the brand’s distinctive character.

On this occasion, we fitted a half rubber sole and reinforced the heel of these Paul Harden shoes.
