Espadrilles

<エスパドリーユ>

Shoes that were a favourite in the Basque Country, a region near the border between France and Spain.
A traditional Basque footwear, so named because espart fibres were woven into the soles
Or so they say.
It seems that jute-woven items are now the norm.

This is Castagnier.

I imagine many of you make good use of it during the spring and summer, don’t you?

With this type of sandal, the part that wears out just like the sole is,

The rubber part of the strap!

Even if you treat it very, very gently,

The elastic has been stretching out little by little, and

Before long…

                                                   Oh!

It can sometimes break.

If you could bring it along straight away,

We can repair it to look this good!

                                                   Clunk.

Don’t worry if a button goes missing.

You can exchange it for something similar.
