[UNION WORKS] Linen/Cotton Work Shirt ②

[UNION WORKS] Linen/Cotton Work Shirt ②

Apr 18, 2026

YesterdayIntroductionHere is the second instalment of our original T-shirts.

In this post, we’ll be looking at how the sample has changed after about six months of wear, as well as what it actually looks like when worn.

Let’s start with white.

With repeated wear and washing, the fabric has softened and the characteristic texture of linen has begun to emerge.

Puckering can be seen along the stitching lines—such as on the collar, pockets and cuffs—giving the previously flat fabric a three-dimensional appearance.

It’s developing a lovely expression.

Next up is black.

As with the white version, in addition to changes in the fabric and puckering,

The colour gradually fades from the areas most prone to wear and tear.

Another characteristic of the black version is that the signs of ageing are more clearly visible.

When I actually tried it on,

(Height: 177 cm, stocky build, wearing size 40)

The relaxed silhouette creates a sophisticated look.

This garment looks equally well whether tucked in or left out, and offers plenty of styling options.

Personally, as it’s a linen blend, I’d recommend wearing it casually with a few buttons undone.

I think one of the great things about this shirt is that you can wear it without feeling too self-conscious.

Some of you may have the impression that black shirts look ‘bold’ or ‘heavy’, but,

The more you wear it, the more the sheen settles and the softer the texture becomes, so even in black it doesn’t look heavy.

Surprisingly, it goes well with almost any pair of trousers, so you can incorporate it into your wardrobe without a second thought.
